Tune your 2024-2025 Silverado/Sierra 2500/3500 with the 6.6L L5P Duramax (E42 ECM) now using HP Tuners’ VCM Suite! This service is required to upgrade the E42 ECM in these diesel trucks for tuning using an MPVI3 device and VCM Suite.

Note: Spare ECMs will NOT BE ACCEPTED, no exceptions. Only the original ECM from your vehicle is acceptable for this service.

Custom Tuning Now Available for Latest Gen L5P Duramax (E42 ECM)

HP Tuners is proud to offer the industry’s first custom tuning and diagnostics solution for the latest generation L5P Duramax platform, supporting the following models:

  • 2024-2025 Chevrolet Silverado 2500/3500 6.6L L5P Duramax (Diesel)
  • 2024-2025 GMC Sierra 2500/3500 6.6L L5P Duramax (Diesel)

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you own a 2017-2023 Silverado/Sierra 2500/3500 6.6L L5P Duramax, you require the GM E41 ECM Service (L5P) instead. This service is only for 2024-2025 models (the latest generation L5P) with the E42 ECM.

In order to start tuning, your truck requires this one-time, send-in upgrade service to upgrade the E42 ECM for custom tuning using our VCM Suite software. Spare ECMs will NOT BE ACCEPTED, no exceptions. Only the original ECM from your vehicle is acceptable for this service. 

This means your E42 ECM must be removed from your truck and shipped to HP Tuners’ headquarters for servicing. This process takes 3-5 business days to complete (not including shipping).

Everything you need to tune your GM E42 ECM (L5P) vehicle with HP Tuners:

  • Purchase this upgrade service to upgrade your E42 ECM for tuning.
  • Download the latest version of VCM Suite BETA for free here.
  • Once upgraded, purchase (8) Universal Credits to license your upgraded ECM.
  • Make sure you have an MPVI3 interface.
    • Purchase a new MPVI3 here.
    • Upgrade your old device for MPVI3 here.

Note: Universal Credits for licensing are not included in the cost of any upgrade service or purchase. Credits must be purchased separately.

 

How it Works!

Step 1: Once you’ve confirmed your vehicle’s support, purchase this upgrade service. You must enter the VIN of your truck in order to add this service to your cart.
 
Step 2: After placing your order, see the “Shipping” tab for a shipping form and address. Fill out this form and place it in your shipping box. You will also receive an email immediately after placing your order with this shipping form and address.
 
Step 3: Remove your E42 ECM from your vehicle and safely package it. Place your completed shipping form in the box.
 
Step 4: Write your order number on the outside of the shipping box.
 
Step 5: Ship your ECM to HP Tuners using any carrier you prefer. The shipping address can be found on this page and in the email discussed in step 2. Shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.
 
Step 6: HP Tuners will upgrade your ECM for tuning and diagnostics. Then, we’ll ship it back to you.
 
Step 7: Once you receive your upgraded ECM, install it back into your vehicle. License the E42 ECM for (8) Universal Credits (sold separately) and start tuning with your MPVI3 device and the latest version of VCM Suite BETA.
