Description

Add Power, Improve Response, Monitor Vehicle

Banks all-new Derringer High Output tuner brings the 2024-25 Chevy/GMC Duramax 6.6L from 438 hp and 928 Ib-ft to a tire-shredding 519 hp and 1068 Ib-ft. The system provides a massive increase in torque across the working range of the engine. Merging, passing, and uphill climbs while towing are easier than ever.

The system includes your choice of the all-new iDash Pro or iDash Data Pro Powertrain Information Center, the most advanced automotive evaluation tool. The Derringer system communicates with the truck's ECM to adjust the tune in real-time, even compensating for altitude. Patented ActiveSafety circuitry protects the engine and transmission, and the Derringer is warranty-friendly, leaving no trace left behind after removal.

Even with the updated stock power figures for the 24+ models, Derringer puts down a best gain of +86 hp, pushing near 520 wheel hp to the road. Plus, the massive increase of +178 Ib-ft of torque is situated right in the heart of the power band where you need it most.

Derringer provides a huge increase in torque across the working range of the engine between 2200 and 2800 RPM. We accomplish this by controlling midrange boost. Look at the yellow zone. Mid-range boost equals mid-range torque.

Power You Can Use

Most interstate onramps are about 1,100 feet. This means you have only 1,100 feet to reach 70 mph. And, the heavier you tow, the harder this becomes. We loaded a Tacoma into a trailer and hitched it to our ‘24 Duramax. Gross vehicle weight was 20,065 pounds. The stock ‘24 Duramax took 1,279 feet to reach 70 mph. With the Derringer set to level 6 (max power), the rig reached 70 mph in just 1,085 feet. The Derringer-tuned truck hit 70 mph 194 feet sooner than stock. It was safely merging with semis while the stock truck was still accelerating past the merging zone, fighting semis for a lane.
Derringer's added power becomes even more pronounced when passing up a grade, while towing. Passing on the highway with a 20,065 lb GVW rig up a 7% grade, Derringer rocketed the truck from 45 mph to 70 mph a full 8.5 seconds quicker than stock.

Pushing on to 75 mph, the stock tune runs out of steam on the top end while Derringer continues to pull strong. The gap between stock and Banks widens to a full 12.41 seconds and nearly a quarter mile of separation.

AutoRate® Dynamic Tuning

Diagram of Derringer High Output installation with iDash Pro
  • Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) — Monitors EGT and intelligently modulates fueling to maintain a safe maximum EGT, protecting your turbo and engine.
  • Altitude compensation — Senses ambient air pressure, controlling the turbocharger to maintain power as altitude increases.
  • Coolant Temperature Monitoring — Maintains safe power based on coolant temp.
Derringer does not add power below 160°F or above 240°F
  • Full Power Timer — Allows for 30 seconds of wide-open throttle before transitioning to the recommended power level for sustained tow/haul.

Derringer High Output is calibrated to modulate power during shifts for better clutch engagement. Thanks to its OBD connectivity, Derringer knows when the GM/Allison 10-speed transmission is shifting gears. It reduces its added power momentarily to allow for a smooth shift. Competitive tuners have no idea or simply ignore when the transmission is shifting and continue to add power, overspeeding the transmission and causing long-term damage.

  • Intelligent Shift Tuning — Gear shifts are optimized for each power level to protect the transmission and increase shift speed while protecting against torque converter and clutch slip.
  • Accelerator Pedal Monitoring — Rolls in additional power progressively, optimizing for both part-throttle fuel economy and maximum power when you want it.
