These have been specifically designed & developed for truck enthusiast who want to reverse level their truck (dropping the rear), but are weary of permanently modifying and potentially compromising the structural integrity of the bed, via the pinch weld/bed seam.
These can be used on the 3500 single wheel or dual rear wheel application as they share the same shackle. The difference between the 2500 and 3500 is, the 3500 has a set of helper springs stacked on top of the traditional 2500 leaf pack. These helper springs have a separate bump stop and when you lower the rear of the truck, it reduces the gap between the helper springs and bump stops, which leads to them gently resting against each other. This will not harm anything as they are designed to do so. However, you will experience a slightly firmer ride in the rear!
These are made much stronger than the factory shackles and have a thicker metal material used for heavy duty use and longevity. The bushings are rubber encased and pressed in. Meaning it's a one piece, that has a rubber outside and a metal tube inside for the bolt. **Same type of rubber durometer you would find on factory.** This feature is key when maintaining a smooth ride and durability. The materials used, and bushings in these are far superior than what comes in most aftermarket shackles. That is why this shackle is considered a "premium shackle" and separates itself from the rest.
Anything over 1.5" would require bending, cutting or hammering of the bed seam since it would interfere with the top of the leaf pack which could potentially invite cancerous rust to form or cause structural integrity issues.
The purpose is to allow the maximum amount of drop possible without having to make any modifications to the vehicle. Making this drop shackle kit 100% Drop In ready. It truly utilizes the full amount of space between the top of the leaf pack and the bottom of the bed.
This is a great alternative to doing a front end leveling kit, which are hard on front end parts, and create a rough ride.
See how John C Garage's 1.4" Drop Shackles can save you money now, as well as later down the road.
Example Photos
As seen in the pictures, all trucks sit almost level by lowering the rear 1.4" and raising the torsion bars roughly 1".
**(Please keep in mind, it is completely up to you how much you want to raise your front end, some do and some don't)**
This will not effect ride quality at all and they make the truck look much better, without the ridiculous rake that the factory height provides.
Customers are using these shackles with tires as large as 35", but anywhere from 32"-34" tires are ideal.
Also, if you have airbags in the rear, these will accommodate each other very nicely while towing heavy! Please note - Most, if not all bag kits would require you to modify the brackets (shorten the length) to gain more travel of the bag when the truck is lowered. There is no bag kit on the market that is designed to work with a lowered truck that I am aware of.

***These could be used for a 3500 as they share the same shackle BUT the problem is the 3500 has a set of helper springs stacked on top of the 2500 leaf pack. They have a bump stop and when you lower the rear of the truck, it reduces the gap between the helper springs and bump stops and gently rest against each other. This will not harm anything as they are designed to do so.
THESE WILL NOT WORK ON THE 1500!
Installation is about two hours and can be done in your driveway. A floor jack, some jack stands, and basic hand tools are required.
