Banks Boost Tubes are the largest tube in the industry at a full mandrel bent 3.5" compared to competitors’ 3” and the stock 2.5" crush-bent tubes. Made of high-quality aluminized steel, Banks Boost Tubes allow for a quicker turbo spool by improving boost pressure retention (increasing air density) between turbo, intercooler, and intake resulting in maximum horsepower.
The Banks Tube Upgrade Kit works with the stock Duramax intake elbow and intercooler by using proprietary high-strength 5-ply silicone couplers and unique to the 2020+ model, a pair of billet aluminum cold-side adapters. These couplers for the intercooler connection and the throttle body openings, are specially made for the airflow requirements on the L5P and feature a venturi-like taper on their inside diameter maintaining boost pressure and volumetric flow.
- Improves airflow
- Greater cooling capacity
- Allow the turbocharger to spool up faster
- Constant diameter tubing for the best flow
- Billet venturi couplers maintain boost pressure
- Compliments Derringer Tuner, Ram-Air Intake , and Monster Exhaust
- Bung for a temperature probe
- 5-ply heavy-duty silicone couplers
- Spring-loaded constant tension clamps
- Mandrel-bent aluminized steel construction
- Huge increase in size and flow over stock and competitors (3.5" vs 2.5")

Banks Boost Tubes Flow Best
A better flowing charge air cooler pipe and a pair of unique billet coldside adapters results in less boost pressure loss and improved performance for your Duramax. By allowing for more air to your engine, your turbo can spool faster and breathe easier. This results in maximizing horsepower, reducing stress on intake components, and improved turbo spool response.
Induction Perfection
Revised for the 2020+ L5P, Banks Power has looked at the new design restrictions and engineered an induction solution to fit it. Even with the new engine bay layout with even tighter fitment under the hood, Banks engineers were still able to maintain a full 3.5" diameter on both the hot and cold side of our boost tubes. Our goal is always to out-do and out-perform stock, our competitors, and even ourselves. The same process goes into the creation of our intercooler induction systems like these Boost Tubes. Put up side by side with the factory intercooler piping, ours could practically eat the stock one whole!

Going The Extra Mile
With the release of the 2020 L5P platform, GM has revised, moved, and updated several components throughout the engine bay. This includes not only the routing of the charge air pipes, but also material construction and connection mechanisms. Our 2020+ L5P Boost Tubes now feature a tapered billet coupler and quick connect on both ends of the pipe. No other manufacturer of intercooler pipes use this method of mounting.
Our engineers used CFD simulations to design the perfect taper and unique double parabolic shape on both ends to maximize airflow and reduce turbulence at the connection points. When you engineer the largest intercooler pipes out there, you have to make sure they connect properly and install easily too. No one else does this, only Banks.
Do It Right
For the 2020+ L5P, GM decided to go with a near full rubber hose design on the cold side. While this might make assembly easier at the GM plant in Ohio, the flex and swelling this hose provides leaves additional performance on the table.
Banks boost tubes will never crack or dry out like the the rubber OEM Charge Air Pipes. Banks Boost Tubes are mandrel bent from aluminized stainless steel and designed to resist deformation from clamping force and other stresses for unparalleled durability and strength.
